The Release

Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2 released this past year with a lot of fanfare. Many Red Dead fans have been waiting for this game to drop for what seems like an eternity. So how is it? In simple terms, it’s one of the greatest games I’ve ever had the pleasure of playing. Already, I have over one-hundred and fifty hours in the game, along with 90% total completion. So there’s been much time put in viewing everything this game has to offer.

Story Line

Let’s start off at the root of this great game – the story. After putting several days into it, I can say that it’s one of the greatest ones I’ve played through. Unlike most games, you have the option of playing as a good or bad guy. No matter the choice, you’re almost guaranteed to have a fun, tear jerking experience. I know I did at least. There are so many twists and shocking moments in the story that’ll really make your jaw drop. That’s one thing I love about this game. Rockstar did not care to take risks in this game, and it’s fantastic. There is so much to the story in this game. There many steps in the main questline, as well as countless side quests, hunting, and fishing, and other activities to keep you occupied. The story and gameplay is an A+ any way you look at it.

Online Multiplayer

Maybe you’re wondering – How is Red Dead Online? Well, it has kinks that Rockstar needs to work out. But overall, it’s another good experience to have in the game. I’ve put several hours into it and I’ve really enjoyed it so far. Although it is still in beta testing, I’d say it’s an overall success for Rockstar and Red Dead. There are few other games out there that have as many activities to do with your friends as Red Dead Online does. With it being only in beta, I expect Rockstar will do so much more with it down the line. Personally, I can’t wait to see what they come up with.

Final Score

So, is Red Dead Redemption 2 a game you should spend your time and money on? My answer is a definite yes. I haven’t had this much fun with a game in a long time. With so many countless activities, you’ll not run out of fun things to do in this game. I know I won’t anytime soon. Rockstar has once again delivered. Overall, I would give it a 9/10.
