BAFTA Games Awards

KSI Jessi talks about the upcoming BAFTA Awards, which are apparently a thing if you weren’t aware.

As some of you may or may not know the BAFTA games award show is just around the corner. Academy award shows are prestigious for everyone and we mainly see the film and music industry who have many award shows, so its great to see games in a similar light.

The BAFTAs is a pretty big deal and having attended last years BAFTA Inside Games Event, which takes place before the ceremony, lets just say its awesome and you get to play and see exclusive games. In other words it’s like putting a child in a candy store.

Lets go over the main awards and see the nominees

Multiplayer in 2015

  • Hearthstone: Heroes Of Warcraft
  • Minecraft: Console Edition
  • Titanfall
  • Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
  • Mario Kart 8
  • Destiny

Personally I would like to see Hearthstone, AW or Destiny to win because I am most familiar with those three and for me Hearthstone’s multiplayer interface is strong and compelling and it would be nice to see a PC game kick all the other consoles ass.

Games Design

  • Alien: Isolation
  • Middle-Earth: Shadow Of Mordor
  • Hearthstone: Heroes Of Warcraft
  • Far Cry 4
  • Threes
  • Destiny

I think Destiny has a strong chance in this as its designed really well, often people have said its repetitive and the story is weak but when looking at Design we are looking at the mechanics and game world. Destiny is built to last and has a return factor. Yes the player in essence is doing some element of repetitive play but so much is embedded in the game world, which for me makes it brilliant the level up system, ranking up armour, crucible, vanguard the list goes on.

Story

  • 80 Days
  • Broken Age
  • The Last Of Us: Left Behind
  • Never Alone (Kisima Ingitchuna)
  • The Wolf Among Us

Last years winner was indeed The Last Of us so to see the single player DLC being up is no surprise. Personally I would like Broken Age to win because it for me has a strong story of two parallels worlds of two characters and reminds me a bit of IRobot. You have to check out the trailer it’s a great game available on Steam and for it be nominated against such big games and then win would be awesome!

Best Game in 2015

  • Middle -Earth: Shadow of Mordor
  • Dragon Age: Inquisition
  • Alien: Isolation
  • Monument Valley
  • Mario Kart 8
  • Destiny
