Game Review: Borderlands: The Handsome Collection

The game includes remastered versions of Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel with all the DLC ever released for both games.

Millions of people were already wishing that Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel would come to the next-generation consoles instead of Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 last October.

So when 2K Games and Gearbox studios announced they would be releasing Borderlands: The Handsome Collection for Xbox One and Playstation 4, millions of fans jumped for joy.  Borderlands: The Handsome Collection was released March 24, 2015 for next gen consoles, and so far it’s been great.

The game includes remastered versions of Borderlands 2 and Borderlands The Pre-Sequel with all the DLC ever released for both games.

2K and Gearbox also introduced – for the first time ever – 4-player split screen on the same console.  Anyone can imagine the chaos and fun 4-player split screen can bring to any party with friends or family game night.

Also, for all the veteran Borderlands players, there is an option where any player can upload and import there old Borderlands 2 and Pre-Sequel characters, badass rank, and story progression onto the next gen versions of the games.

As an added bonus, all returning Borderlands 2 and Presquel players receive 75 golden keys for the golden key chests in Sanctuary (Borderlands 2) and Concordia (Borderlands The Pre-Sequel) and 10,000 extra bonus badass rank for your characters in both games.

Now the games themselves are exactly the same as the previous versions of the games with the same story lines, characters and missions, but with much improved visuals.

Players who couldn’t afford the DLC characters or campaigns for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 versions of the games can now experience them in Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, which gives players hours of extra playing time and new experiences playing the game as the DLC characters.

Players can still farm bosses for legendary weapons and other rare loot and can still type in golden key codes to earn those coveted golden keys that give you access to rare and possible legendary weapons and other items.  The games still have online matchmaking if anyone feels like partnering up with randoms and kicking some bandit butt on Pandora and Pandora’s moon.

All in all, Borderlands: The Handsome Collection brings back the glory of Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel to next-gen consoles and gives new comers a taste of the violent humorous world of Borderlands.

Any interested gamer can pick up Borderlands: The Handsome Collection for $59.99 from any store or online retailer.
