KSI Game Review: Fortnite (Part 2)

Part 2 of the Fortnite game review focuses on the various quests available within the game!

Fortnite Quests

There are many different kinds of quests thatA?can beA?played throughout Fortnite: Storm Shield, Ride the Lightning, Rescue the Survivors, Fight the Storm (levels 1 through 3), Destroy the Encampments, Build the Radar Grid, Repair the Shelter, and Retrieve the Data. Each quest varies on difficulty and time required. Most of these quests require for the player to find BluGlo and deposit it into various quest items.

Defense Quests

Storm Shield is a home defense quest. You continuously upgrade your home base, building more defenses and towers while defending from oncoming attackers.

Ride the Lightning is a quest in which you must find a van that belongs to a man named Lars, build a base around it, and protect it from attackers. You do have to findA?about 5 BluGlo to complete this mission.A?If you survive the two waves ofA?attacks, a giant hot air balloon will emerge from the van and it will fly away.

FightA?the Storm comes in levels 1, 2, and 3. To start this quest, you must find the ATLAS and deposit BluGlo. Once you do, the map will show you where the attackers are coming from and you can build your base accordingly. The goal is to last however long the attack is for while suffering minimal attacks on your ATLAS. Once the quest is complete, the power surges to the sky and causes the purple haze to fade.

Repair the Shelter is one of the most difficult quests in Fortnite and does require a full 4 man team to complete successfully. You must defend your base while repairing it. An item called a SEE-BotA?will pop up on your map that you will have to find and defend untilA?the time runs out.

Rescue Quests

Rescue the Survivors is a quest aimed towards finding as many survivors as soon as possible. The timer starts at 20 minutes and counts down from there. You are asked to rescue at least 6 survivors and given extra experience for each extra survivor.

Retrieve the Data is a quest during which a hot air balloon is carrying information that needs to be downloaded at its’ landing site. You can either wait down the timer until the balloon lands or you can shoot it from the sky. However, youA?will want to shoot that balloon downA?only if your base is ready before it lands! You must defend the data until all files are downloaded to win.

Offense Quests

Destroy the Encampments is a rather difficult quest, especially when you reach the higher levels. The goal is to literally destroy the encampments. Each time the quest is started, you are asked to destroy 5 encampments. You areA?given extra experience for each additional encampment that is destroyed. The best way to find these encampments is to uncover the whole map. OnlyA?then, look for the white arrow to pop up on your mini map. There is only ever one active encampment at a time, so finding all of them first is the wisest thing to do.

Building Quests

Build the Radar Grid is a building quest. Grids are placed for the player to read as a blueprint for a building. The building must be built with the exact same layout and material as the grid. Once the building is complete, there is a building at the top that needs to be activated. Once that is done, there are rewards given to all players present. On higher level quests, there will more than likely be enemies surrounding each of the Radar Grids, so keep an eye out!
